Description:
Come coach sports to children in Mongolia! Are you passionate about sports, full of energy and enthusiasm and eager to share your interest with others? This project offers you the chance to use your sporting talents while interacting with the local school children and getting involved in local community life. Physical fitness is a high priority in the schools of Ulaanbaatar. During term time there are many opportunities to get involved with coaching a variety of sports. If you specialize in a particular sport you can dedicate your time to teaching the sport you love. Volleyball and basketball are popular sports taught in the schools, or if you would prefer you can help teach track and field. During the summer months you could work at a summer camp, situated just outside the capital city. You could help with soccer, table tennis, volleyball or basketball, the list of sports is endless. Just let us know what sport you are interested in and we can find a suitable placement.
Highlights:
Home of one of the last truly nomadic peoples, Mongolia is a land of wide open spaces that includes barren desert, wild fertile steppe and imposing mountains. Mongolia's ancient history dates back to the once great empire of Chinggis Khaan, and you may even find relics of a prehistoric nature in the great expanse of the Gobi! All accommodation and food you receive is arranged and monitored by Projects Abroad. All projects placements are regularly visited and checked. In addition, this project offers you the opportunity to become fully immersed in the culture in a manner which even the most hardened backpackers could never hope to do.

Projects Abroad's Mission Statement: As part of the global economy, Projects Abroad helps create local employment wherever we send volunteers. Employing local staff overseas and using their talents and knowledge is important to us. This local knowledge and support enables the organization to channel the skills of the volunteers from more affluent countries to regions around the world where they are needed. Volunteers also learn from their placements and the people they meet, and they gain experience in a chosen field. In the 21st century, we believe this mutual respect is what cultural exchange is all about.
