Volunteering with Social Chit Chat

- Multi-Country
    Locations in Africa
  England
  • London:
  • London
  Gambia

Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: All year

Description: Social Chit Chat has a range of volunteering placements in Africa, Asia and the UK throughout the year. Projects include a school in Gambia, water sanitation in India and Nepal, working with disabled children in London and helping wildlife in Thailand. Our placements are designed to be inexpensive without compromising on the experience of volunteering abroad. The only between us and some other companies offering volunteer projects is that we're not in for the money. We're in it so that you have a great time and communities around the world benefit from your volunteer placement.

Length: Volunteer placements can be between 2 weeks and 6 months. Most volunteers stay between 2 weeks and a month.

Extras: We're happy to arrange things like flights, insurance and other details. If you'd like us to do this for you at no extra cost then just let us know.

How to apply: The application process involves a short application form, followed by a telephone or face-to-face interview depending on your location. There's nothing scary and 95% of all our applicants are accepted when we have places available. We'll send you everything you need to apply in our volunteer placement pack.

What will I be doing?

What you will be doing really depends on where you want to go and what you want to do. We won't force you into anything you don't want to do. We have placements available in teaching, conservation, building simple infrastructure and helping disabled people. Please let us know your preference and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

What to do from here?

If this all seems very straight-forward and hassle free - that's because it is. Our volunteer placements are the real deal. You work with real people, helping real communities and have a real volunteering experience. We're not in the business of running tourist type volunteer placements where you help a little bit but pay a lot. Our projects rely on your help - we couldn't do it without you so you know that once you're on the plane home, you've made a real difference. And that's what counts. So to help you get on with having a great experience and really giving something back, we've made the process as simple as possible.

Highlights: Volunteering is a great experience and you can rest assured that all support and time goes to the people that need it most. Social Chit Chat only invests in small grassroots projects that help a specific community or area. That way we don't waste any resources and we can see the results.
