Description:
Work on orphanage and child care projects for disabled and impoverished children and their families. One week student service program fee with internet discount is $1,795. Two-week options are available. You can help expand and maintain residential, training, and daycare facilities. Or, you may assist caregivers conduct recreational activities, teach classes or serve meals in a center for children from low-income families. Or, you may provide direct services to deaf or mentally challenged children. If you have first-hand experience working with children with disabilities, professionally or personally, your expertise can be especially useful in this project. Finally, some teams provide medical outreach to various communities. Physicians, dentists and nurses provide care for the economically impoverished through Camp Hope's outreach program. It's very helpful if you can bring donated medical supplies. Out of humble surroundings, the children in our host communities in Ecuador embody humanity's hopes and dreams... but they need your help.

Work with our in-country Ecuadorian Country Manager to provide direct, hands-on care for children of all ages and help improve two amazing childcare facilities. You will also have time to enjoy the wonders of the country. Ecuador is one of the world's most geographically varied, species-rich countries and nearly all of its natural treasures are within your reach. From Quito, you can travel to colorful Andean markets, remote jungle villages and warm Pacific beaches. Or you can tour this magnificent capital city. This opportunity combines hands-on service with cultural immersion in a unique way where you can measure your contribution.

Cost in US$: $1,795- $2,295
Cost Include Description:
These fees support the hosts' on-going development work to help the children, and also cover your meals, lodging, transportation to and from the work site, project expenses, administrative costs, and the services of a trained team leader. The service program fee does not cover free-time expenses, or your airfare or other travel to the host country. All fees, including airfare, are tax-deductible for U.S. tax-payers.

Typical Volunteer: Our volunteers are culturally curious and open-minded people looking to help improve the lives of children. They enjoy Latin American culture, and are all ages, from various ethnic backgrounds, and of all different professions, such as educators, students, laborers, medical professionals, full-time parents, computer professionals, artists, lawyers and the like.
