Volunteer Kenya is a grassroots volunteer organization located in the rural village of Kabula, Kenya. Over the last 6 years, Volunteer Kenya has had over 300 individuals from all walks of life volunteer in one of our 4 volunteer programs. Our Education Program is for teachers, students studying to become teachers, or passionate individuals who seek to make a difference in the lives of rural African children. Our grade school, Epico Jahns Academy, is located in the rural village of Kabula, Kenya and has over 300 students in grades 1-5. Volunteer positions are accepted year round for 1-4 month programs. Volunteer teachers teach alongside our full-time staff of Kenyan teachers.

We run 4 humanitarian aid programs: (1) Healthcare, (2) HIV/AIDS Awareness, (3) Education, (4) Microenterprise Development. Volunteer Kenya is a non-religious, non-political volunteer organization run through a partnership of past overseas volunteers and local Kenyans.
Qualifications:
Volunteers must be 18 years or older and have a passion for teaching children. A college degree in education is a benefit but is not mandatory.

Typical Volunteer: There is no typical volunteer. During the summers we have a significant number of undergrad college students and medical school students. Throughout the year we have adults from a variety of backgrouns including healthcare, business, education. We even recently had a 70 year old volunteer (who was a retired business executive).
