This modest initial capital provided by the MondoChallenge Foundation allows families to set up of small business or income generating activities in order to sustain livelihoods and educate their children. MondoChallenge is working in partnership with several local organisations in order to help these populations. "The business programmes are just helping people who would otherwise be begging on the street, no future, no independence, no self-worth. Like the grant recipients I went to visit giving them 80,000 Tsh, GBP40, the difference it makes. It brought a lump to my throat. Giving a small amount of money is a life-changing experience. Ive had a fantastic time, it will stay with me forever and I am desperate to come back." - Janet Pankhurst
