Description: Nexos Voluntarios (NeVo) is a Peru based non-profit organization supported by the Inter American Development Bank, that provides opportunities for caring individuals (students or professionals) to make a significant contribution to the development of Peru's poorest communities by living and working as volunteers in the country.

Nexos Voluntarios (NeVo) invites you to change lives in Peru by offering you a comprehensive and personalized service, matching your interests and skills with a wide variety of high-impact non-profit organizations. We offer placements in reputed projects related to education, health care, environment, small business management, human rights and fine arts.

Nexos Voluntarios works based on a network model to leverage the impact you can have on the lives of those in need. For this matter, during your stay, you will receive orientation and field support as well as mentoring from corporate leaders and peer cooperation from a local university student or corporate peer.

Nexos Voluntarios Volunteering and Internships in Peru

Highlights: NeVo is the only program in Latin America which offers:

1. Peer support from a local university student or professional to help in cultural understanding and leverage the project and potential impact

2. Cultural activities including fun trips to nearby cities and visits to museums and archeological sites as well as cooking classes and meringue dancing!

3. Advisory support from mentors from private corporations particularly in terms of managerial tools that can be applied to the social arena. It is a good way to meet influential people in the country.

4. Participation in conferences and round-tables with Peruvian leaders in politics, business, literature, etc.

5. Access to the Nevo house a meeting point where students can read, access the internet, meet, have a coup of coffee, watch a movie, etc

We also include:
1. Spanish conversation-strengthening program.
2. Comprehensive on-site support (emergency line, free access to medical doctor, permanent coordinator 24/7)

Qualifications: Volunteers / Interns must have the following qualifications:
- At least a basic knowledge of Spanish
- At least 20 years old
- Any career / academic background

Cost Include Description:

1. Volunteer work in reputable non-for-profit organizations we are very careful in selecting NGOs and defining impact-driven projects to ensure students add value and feel satisfied with their work

2. Advisory support from mentors from private corporations particularly in terms of managerial tools that can be applied to the social arena. It is a good way to meet influential people in the country.

3. Participation in conferences and round-tables with Peruvian leaders in politics, business, literature, etc.

4. One-to-one peer support from students from top Peruvian universities each foreign student is assigned a peer volunteer with whom they form a team to work together it is an excellent way to help foreign students feel at home and learn about Peruvian culture from a friend.

5. Room and board with a Peruvian host family.

6. Cultural-immersion activities like visits to museums and archeological sites as well as cooking classes and meringue dancing!

7. Spanish conversation-strengthening program.

8. Comprehensive on-site support (emergency line, access to medical doctor, access to the Nevo house a meeting point where students can read, access the internet, meet, have a cup of coffee, watch a movie, etc)

Typical Volunteer: A typical volunteer is 22 years old, is a University Student or recent graduate from a well-recognized US, Canadian or European University (we have received people from MIT, Cornell, UT Austin, U. of Denver, Northerwester University, Virginia University, McGill and the University of Dortmund and the U. of Cologne in Germany, among others).

Age Range: 20 to 60

This Program is open to American, Australian, Canadian, European, Kiwi, South African and World Wide Participants. This Program is also open to Families, Couples and Individuals
