Description:
This is a teach abroad position where the volunteer teachers will not only be teaching a class at the elementary level but will be encouraged to look at the overall educational style of the school and suggest improvements. Having grown up outside of Pakistan will allow the teacher to potentially bring new and valuable ideas to improve the conduct of student teacher interactions, extra-curricular activities and possible introduction of new classes.

It is an exciting time to be at Pak-American School as we are offering a very new style of education in Pakistan that is fast become very successful. Our aim is for our students to become educated in an atmosphere where they can practice critical inquiry and become independent thinkers. The volunteer teacher will not only be able to teach these students but also be a part of the overall process of establishing and improving the system in which our goals can be achieved. Free room, board and transportation (place of residence includes several amenities and services). Excursions to the beautiful mountainous northern areas of Pakistan such as Muree and NathiaGali (expenses paid other than hiking trails, skiing etc). The school will advise you on safety and provide appropriate precautions where necessary.
Qualifications:
We are looking for college students in the US who are pursuing or have completed a degree in education or a related program. Experience in teaching is preferred but not required. It is important that the prospective applicant be proactive and self motivated with an interest in education and a desire to improve the status quo.
Cost Include Description:
The cost is the ticket to and from Islamabad depending on location of origin (approx. $900 return ticket from New York)
