Description: Volunteer Peten is a 501c3 non-for-profit organization established in San Andres, Peten (with a US office in Mohnton, Pennsylvania) whose mission is to aid development in Guatemala by training international volunteers to participate in, design, and implement sustainable projects. Our main projects focus on environmental education, general education, reforestation, forest management, medicinal plants, and working with the public library and public schools, but we are open and able to aid volunteers to develop any project that suits their abilities and goals.

Volunteer Peten

Highlights: Complete Immersion with local community. Work with local children on a daily basis. Everything included in low contribution fee.

Qualifications: Looking for self-motivated volunteers to work on a variety of community projects that involve teaching in schools, managing an ecological park, and running activities in a community library.

    Volunteer Peten's Mission Statement: Volunteer Peten is a small, independent non-profit organization located in Northern Guatemala whose mission is to: 1) protect and manage a 150-acre ecological reserve, 2) provide environmental education programs to the schools and community, 3) assist in small, sustainable community projects, and; 4) provide quality volunteer opportunities for travelers and students.
