Description:
Road 2 Argentina places you at a local volunteer organization where you will be given hands-on assignments that truly help those who need it most in Buenos Aires. At your placement, you will work directly with the staff, volunteers, projects and those the organization helps. Our partner organizations provide assistance in the following areas: - child care - housing construction - food preparation - medical care - child and adult education - community center activities - vocational training - work excursions to surrounding cities and slums Volunteers have the opportunity to work Monday - Friday, 3-5 hours per day, with a Saturday option as well.
Highlights:
Volunteer placements in the Patagonia region of Argentina are located in San Junin de los Andes. Duties at this volunteer position include: hard work (cleaning, wall painting, digging of ditches, farm works, etc.), routine (book keeping, archiving and updating of documents, some work in the kitchen area, etc.) or intellectual support (helping children with school home work, teaching, designing, working on preparation of teaching material, etc.). Depending on the choice taken by the volunteer, he/she would work outside (farm, gardens) or inside (school, offices, childrens bedrooms). Volunteer work excursions leave for Iguazu and Posadas every month. Volunteers live among an indigenous community and help with projects including: community health, education, family planning and constructing clean water sources and family housing. Students will also have the chance to visit the Iguazu National Park where they will be able to see the breathtaking Iguazu waterfalls, one of Argentina's most famous destinations.
