Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks

Description: All participants will commit themselves to a minimum of a two-week Volunteer Work Project. The Standard ISV Program consists of a four-week program divided into two 2-week segments (one Volunteer Work Project and a two-week Adventure Tour).

Conservation Volunteer Work Projects

The conservation volunteer work projects for USA will be conducted along the coast of Southern California. Each project is two weeks in length and is run in collaboration with well-established local organizations (government and private). Each volunteer work project team will be supervised and directed by professional staff from the host organization and an ISV project leader. The volunteer work team will consist of around 8 - 15 participants, depending on project. *Please note that certain projects only operate on specific program dates.

No prior experience or expertise in environmental areas is needed in order to participate. Accommodations vary with projects, ranging from national park huts or dormitory style accommodations to camping. Meals (3 per day) will be provided during this time.

* Nature trail construction
* Surveys of flora and fauna species

International Student Volunteers in USA

Highlights: Participants will travel through the beautiful states of California, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. The five included activities (included in the program cost) will be determined by ISV, and will be included in the ISV Participant Travel Manual sent to participants 30 days prior to their departure date. The adventure will include such optional activities as:

- Snowboarding or snow skiing at Steamboat Springs, Colorado
- Snowmobiling, ice climbing, horseback riding or hot air ballooning over the Colorado Mountains
- Shopping in the border town of Tijuana, Mexico
- Exploring the ancient geological features of Monument Valley
- Visiting Hoover Dam - the largest man-made reservoir in the USA
- Experiencing Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps. Take in a spectacular Las Vegas show
- Discovering the amazing Grand Canyon
- Experiencing the nightlife of San Diego, California while visiting the Gas Lamp District, Sea World or the San Diego Zoo and beaches
