Description:
This orphanage provides basic physical, spiritual, and emotional care of young girls who have been physically and mentally abused or abandoned. Customarily, the girls attend school in the morning, and return to the orphanage in the afternoon. Placements can include psychology, social work, human development, nursing, health, prevention of rape as well as basic vocational training to help empower the girls. Volunteers can assist in numerous activities including arts, drama, music, host reading programs, assist in English courses, and in daily chores and needs. Daily volunteer projects can also include sports/play time with kids, reading to children, daily maintenance including feeding at meal and snack times, cleaning, and giving tutorials. This project is ideal for the volunteer who is flexible, open-minded, and wants to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
