Description: Volunteer at world famous Zanzibar Islands. You can participate in teaching in the orphanages, schools, women organizations, environmental and health projects, sport coaching, computing, handicapped care, after care work and we can tailor you a project as well. You can also select a safari community work package where your safari is part of your donation. Accommodation is at volunteers house or at home stay depending on the placement location.

Zanzibar program starts every first and third Monday of the calendar month.

You can also visit our other volunteering sites at Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Masai land as well as to participate in the special priced safari programs we perform for the volunteers.

We receive annually some 1,500 volunteers and interns so you will make lots of new friends. We have 70 people staff whereby 10 are expatriate team leaders to secure that you have a happy stay.

Zanzibar Volunteering

Highlights: Zanzibar Islands are world famous tourist destination full of Afro Arabuc history, Sandy beaches with crystal clear waters. Thereon you can also attend our safari programs or climb Mt Kilimanjaro. You combine your holiday with the community work, This program is for visitors who along their holiday program want to remember the poor societies.

Qualifications: No specific qualification. Minimum age 18 years old but younger people can attend at the supervision of their elders. The placements are in nursery, primary and secondary schools, work with orphans and street children, health and environmental oriented, sports and women groups.

Cost Include Description:
Cost for the Zanzibar stay is USD 250 per week including ferry port or airport transports at Zanzibar, accommodation, breakfast, orientation and placement guidance as well as the port or airport transports. If you arrive via Dar es Salaam we can arrange one night stay at Dar es Salaam volunteering facility, airport and port transport, ferry ticket to Zanzibar is at USD 105. Thereon you can attend numerous small programs such as swimming with dolphins, safaris etc. separately.

Salary / Pay: Families will get reduced cost.

Art in Tanzania's Mission Statement: Volunteering and adventure tours in Tanzania. Helping poor and underprivileged. Supporting arts and music. To enhance the livelihood of the rural villages, orphans, women and tribal people as the Masai tribe. We also perform environmental projects as introducing fire bricks made of waste materials to avoid forest cutting for charcoal. We operate in grass root level so the work is easy to attend to all volunteers. We finance our operations with the small profits from the attending volunteers as well as from our other financial resources as from meaningful safaris.
