Description: Make a lasting impact on an entire community as you contribute to the mental, physical and social well-being of its children with our Youth Outreach Program in Salta, Argentina. A group of local mothers joined forces in the mid-1990s to form their own non-profit-like organization. What started as a simple grassroots soup kitchen has since turned into a community center that feeds more than 200 at-risk children and seniors each day. The center also offers fruit-drying and jam-making workshops, and sells these products to raise money for programs. Next on their list of goals: to expand their programming to include more English classes, after-school tutoring and outdoor recreation. But they need help. And that's where you come in.

As a volunteer in Salta, you will have the opportunity to work alongside these motivated mothers, contributing to the physical, social and intellectual growth of underprivileged youth in and around the city. While you'll spend much of your time assisting the organization with its current projects, you'll also have the chance to create new workshops and improve their current offerings.

Highlights:
As a volunteer you will:
* Help community centers organize their English programs and teach English classes to both youth and adults
* Tutor students in English and other subjects
* Assist with craft workshops
* Assist with preschool activities
* Help prepare and serve healthy food at the soup kitchen
* Coordinate games and recreational activities
* Organize projects, such as mural painting, to improve the community center
