Description:
See China in the year of the summer Olympics! Participants will work as assistants to an English teacher for one of many summer language camps throughout China. The summer programs are for young adults in China who wish to learn English in an immersion program over the summer. TEFL Institute participants will work up to 20 hours a week in the classroom, with the focus on improving the students listening and speaking skills. They will help prepare lesson plans and activities that encourage language production such as dialogues, games, pronunciation activities, debates, role playing, and conversation groups. Volunteers can expect to work an additional 10 hours a week collaborating with Chinese EFL teachers for the planning and the development of extracurricular activities.
