Description:
Casa do Caminho is an orphanage situated in the middle of the Tingua rainforest, outside of Rio de Janeiro. Our building needs lots of maintenance and carpentry. Lots of roofs, doors and windows need to be replaced. You can also include kids and teenagers in activities so they can learn from your experience.
Highlights:
Working with Brazilian staff and volunteers around the world towards ideal goals in the middle of nature. It will be an intense period where you will have to be able to deal with the limitations of a third world country and an orphanage full with children that miss the basics in social and formal education. It is incredibly rewarding if you can make a difference to our program.
Qualifications:
* Experience in carpentry * Willing to work within 6 months - 2 years volunteer period * Preferred knowledge of Portuguese language

Casa do Caminho aims to take the children away from aggression, drugs & criminality in Rio de Janeiro and surrounding suburbs. In the orphanage Casa do Caminho provides children with shelter, health care, education and a lot of freedom to play!
