Description: In the Infant and Childcare program works out of a daycare center in Flores de Villa. About twelve to fifteen children from the community come here while their parents are working. The center gives the children their meals and teaches them things like numbers, colors, songs etc. Your main responsibilities would be to enjoy time with the kids, help feed them, playing, singing and attending them on outings such as going to the park.   

All of the programs in Peru include transportation from the airport to their host family, a short orientation, twenty-four hour assistance, a walking tour of Miraflores, half board (two meals per day) six days a week as well as information on travel around the country.

Highlights: Peru, home of the great Inca Empire, is a country of deep history and culture. It is a magical location that contains one of the richest biodiversities on Earth. Peru is the third biggest country in South America and it ranges from the beautiful coast line to the spectacular Andes mountains and down again to the dense Amazon River basin.

The culture of Peru is comprised of the multicultural layers of many great civilizations. The heritage of the Inca's has been passed down not only by their spectacular ruins but also with the Quechua language, which is still spoken in many areas of the country. You can wander the around colonial cities which have preserved the legacy of the Spanish conquistadors. You will be able to explore the lost city of Machu Picchu and ponder the enigma of the Nazca Lines.

Typical Volunteer: All volunteers must be 18 years old or older. Volunteers need to have a desire to learn about another culture and teach about theirs. All interested participants must complete a GeoVisions application.
