Description: Volunteers in this program can participate in any of the many areas this community center has to offer including English classes, homework support, computer and internet classes, reading and writing classes and skill courses involving hairdressing, dressmaking and cooking. There is also a foodservice that caters to needy families, a small facility that produces pasta, a daycare center and a second hand clothes shop. All of the money from these various endeavors goes back into providing other services to the local community. Volunteers will collaborate with the project directors to find areas of participation that not only fit with the projects needs but also with the volunteers interest.

All of our programs in Argentina include accommodation and half board as well as your work certificate, participant handbook, assistance throughout the program, a 24 hour emergency telephone and a day of orientation to familiarize you with your new surroundings as well as the program itself.

Highlights: Volunteer activities may include:
* Teaching English to children and adults
* Help local staff play with and look after small children in the daycare
* Help with food distribution to underprivileged families
* Help children with their homework
* Create and teach educational workshops about your home country
* Help in the various skills classes (dressmaking, cooking, hairdressing, computer and Internet)
* Help teach adults how to read and write

Minimum Education: Diploma/Certification

Cost in US$: $1145 for 1 month. 2 months: $1645; for 3 months $2,100; for 4 months $2,550 and for 5 months $3,000. The 6 month program is $3540.

Experience Required: no

Typical Volunteer: All volunteers must be 18 years old or older. Volunteers need to have a desire to learn about another culture and teach about theirs. All interested participants must complete a GeoVisions application.
