Volunteer with Children and Youths
Kenya
Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Typical Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Dates: Flexible
Description:
Volunteers may teach health and safety lessons, play soccer with the kids, organize outings for the children, increase publicity, paint a mural, fundraise, organize, and/or help with long-term planning. KIACOB is a young organization that can benefit a great deal from the enthusiasm and hard work of volunteers. Our program is entirely flexible to your needs--come for as long or as little as you like, and work to make KIACOB stronger by doing what best matches your skills. The children feel very honored to have visitors and they love the attention!
Highlights:
KIACOB's volunteer programs are flexible to your needs. We encourage volunteers to stay for at least three weeks, but volunteers may come for any length of time. We can negotiate regarding a long-term stay. Many volunteers combine their stay with tourism elsewhere in East Africa. Included in the volunteer fee, volunteers have the option of staying with a host family. No matter how long you decide to volunteer or where you choose to stay, you will have a remarkable experience and you will have helped KIACOB to realize its vision.
Qualifications:
No special qualifications are necessary, just a love of working with young people, and a willingness to bear with us as we are a new and growing organization.
