Description:
This Workcamp aims to protect the environment and to fight against anarchistic deforestation in the area, to sensitize the population on the misdeeds of the bush fires and on the management of the household refuse. The SYJED took on it to plant trees in areas where the phenomenon is very accentuated. As well as the volunteers will have to put out of ground seedlings adapted for the area and which will be used different profits for the locality. This Workcamp will be used of other share to sensitize the populations especially the young people and the women on IST/HIV/SIDA. A training is envisaged for this purpose for all the participants in order to equip them with adequate techniques IEC. Work to be made: - Preparation of the sites to be retimbered, research of stakes, put out of ground of the seedlings, sensitizing of the population for the follow-up and protections of the young seedlings, sensitizing for the environmental protection and misdeed of the bush fires and management of the household refuse, cleaning and cleansing of the public places... - The volunteers following their training in STD/HIV/AIDS, will train in their turn the young people of the village as even teachers who will help them in their sensitizing and this even after the departure of the volunteers. They will make sensitizing of proximity (door-to-door): they will pass from houses in houses to discuss in small groups with the population, the Sensitizing of mass: sensitizing will be done in a place public with all the population, occasion to make the synthesis of the proximity. According to the size of the communities, sensitizing can be done in several close villages. The means of mobilization of sensitizing are: the talks discusses, the plays, the theatre, distribution of the condoms; folders of informations and posters; the volunteers and the young people of the village will occur at the end of the Workcamp in play. The volunteers can provide themselves with the hoods, female of the posters and posters short all for a campaign. Work will be always 5 hours by day. You can bring materials if possible (condoms, audio and video elements on HIV, posters ...)
Highlights:
Volunteers will stay in a rural region and help in a workcamp projects for at least 3 weeks. Accommodation, meals, transport to the site are to be provided by SYJED. Since the group will prepare and eat and live together, each volunteer will contribute' 185 Euro or 200 Euro as participation for the three weeks meals expenses, and for the projects. The travel is also in charge of the volunteer. So, anyone staying after will cover his own expenses. Our administration officer will give the volunteer all the necessary information and needs for a nice stay in Togo. A short training on volunteering and what the work is actually going to be, will be given to the volunteer prior to the start of the camp
