Description:
This school teaches students from kindergarten up until the end of their primary education. Students ages range from 6-15 years, and the school runs in shifts because they have too many students. They teach all subjects, and include music (singing) in their curriculum Volunteers would be helpful to assist any of the teachers in their teaching. They need help with the kindergarten classes, and could act as teachers aids in these areas. Also, running extracurricular programs such as sports, music, or drama would be beneficial to the school. Providing individual tutoring to students requiring extra help is another task for a volunteer (completely optional).
Highlights:
Specific tasks for the volunteer would include assisting with teaching English, Math, etc. to the primary students, working with the kindergarten classes, (they need extra staff)and also organizing sports clubs, music activities. Students range in age from 6-15. There are approximately 300 students in the school. The normal school session runs from 8:00am -3:00pm, but because of the shift schedule, some students are still in school until 5:00pm. A volunteer would have flexible hours depending on which classes they were assisting with.
Qualifications:
Volunteers at this placement would need to be organized, motivated, tolerant, patient, have a positive attitude and be honest.

Cost Include Description:
Upon arrival in country our staff will pick you up at the airport and return you to our Orientation Center for a safety briefing and general country orientation. For this program you are required to complete one week of language training and orientation which is included in the cost of the program. At the end of that week you will transfer to your placement to begin volunteering. Our staff are available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should you require help of any kind.

Typical Volunteer: We believe everyone can contribute by volunteering. Recent graduates from high school, college or university, professionals taking a career break, recent retirees, individuals or groups who are interested in a change and the chance to enrich their own life and the lives of others. If you are 18 years or older you can apply for any of the placements available. If you are from 16-18 years old you may apply for placements near our Volunteer Abroad Office and Residence, so that we are able to give you more support.
Both students and professionals are needed for placements in all our countries.
