Description: Volunteers are wanted at hospitals, health clinics, Homes, in villages in Thailand, Nepal, Cambodia. You will assist nurses, doctors, other staff, teach English to staff or children, activate children, depending on background and interest.

All volunteers are, welcome to maybe the best and free Volunteer Orientation in SE Asia, before they start, with very practical culture, language and volunteer training.
The training takes place in the heart of Indochina, in Thailand, on the border to Laos, at OpenmindProjects own Volunteer and Training Center in Nongkhai town.

The training is open to other travelers too, at a special fee.

Highlights: Volunteer at the Krabi Hospital by the sea in Thailand, or at an AIDS Home in the north of Thailand, at a Health Center on an island, a Hospital for Children in Nepal, a Home for Street Families in Cambodia.

Volunteers get a chance to work in the field, and interact with local people.

You will learn much about the health and social conditions of poor people, about insufficient health care and social services but dedicated locals doing as best they can.

Qualifications: Projects are ideal for medical students, nurses, social workers, but also teachers and other volunteers interested in health and social issues.

Doctors with experience are of course also very welcome, an ideal chance to experience first hand health care in a developing country.
