Description:
A grass roots, affordable yet professional volunteer program in Asia. Volunteer at national parks, schools, temples, orphan homes, child centers, hospitals in Thailand, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos. You will teach and practice English with children, young novices, orphans or assist national park staff, teachers, nurses. Welcome to our famous 3 day Cross Culture Training, by many regarded as the best available in SE Asia. The training takes place in the heart of Indochina at our own Volunteer and Training Center. The training is free for OpenmindProjects volunteers but open to other travelers too.

In this genuine, grass roots, affordable yet professional volunteer program in Asia you can: * Teach at schools, national parks, hospitals, child and health centers, by the sea, in the mountains, in the jungle in North and South Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Nepal. * Combine one placement in one country and another country. * Work, live and interact with the local people. * Start with a 3 day culture, language and teach training in Thailand. Then you move on to your volunteer assignment and meet your new colleagues and hosts. You are always welcome to our volunteer houses in North and South Thailand. - You help people learn and you learn as much as they do; the language, the culture, and social conditions in another part of the world. - You learn more about yourself too, for life!
Qualifications:
All volunteers welcome. Some projects are ideal for medical students, nurses, social workers, or teachers and other volunteers interested in health and social issues.

Schools and other learning/youth institutions in developing nations are understaffed and under resources. New information technology and international volunteers help offset this advantage.
