A Student's Help in Africa: Voluntary work - Medical Internship

Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks

Description: Medical Internship: The following hospital departments are available:
- Gynecology/maternity
- Surgery
- Pediatrics
- Internal medicine
- Laboratory
- Radiology

Medical internship research projects:
- HIV/AIDS research in pregnant women attending antenatal clinics
- HIV/AIDS research in children and adults
- Malaria research in children
- Tuberculosis research in children and adults
- HIV/AIDS counseling and testing in (out)patient clinics

Voluntary work such as teaching nursery/primary and secondary school children is available. Furthermore you can describe your own voluntary or project and ASHIA agency will provide you with the right resources.

Qualifications: Qualifications/Criteria for volunteer/internship position:

- Over 16 years of age
- In case of medical internship, volunteer must attend a medical or health related school or university. Or must be a qualified health professional or health related professional
- All volunteers must apply independently from ASHIA agency and obtain appropriate visas, documentations and vaccinations in order to fulfill their voluntary work in Africa.

Cost Include Description:

- Airport pickup to voluntary work location
- Accommodation: Fully equipped accommodation including bedsheets, pillows, mosquito nets, kitchen utilities, toilet utilities

- Allocation of particular project upon request
- 1 excursion abroad
