Description: If you're more at home on a sports field than a classroom and you want to help underprivileged children, then coaching sports to poor kids and orphans is the answer! Projects around the world where you can share your passion with equally enthusiastic children. Coaching Sports is fun for everyone, but also extremely beneficial in building team spirit, communication and leadership skills.

Travellers Sports offers loads of opportunities to coach the sport of your choice, in many countries around the world. You can coach as a full time placement, or along side teaching another subject. We have a huge variety of sports you can coach in many different countries. Remember, you choose your dates and length of program!

Each placement is different. You can coach local children in Brazil in informal fun after school in a dirt playground or you can embark on a more professional coaching placement in South Africa, with great facilities and community involvement. In Ghana you may even arrange interschool tournaments or work alongside an international football player! Each country is different, but the kids are all the same they love sports!

The sizes of class vary, depending on school and country. Coaching hours can range from 8 to 20 hours per week, usually over 5 days.

Some coaching placements are full-time sports placements and some are part time where you may also want to combine the coaching with some English teaching. This way you're helping the children with much-needed language ability and then reinforcing what they've learnt in the informal setting of the sports field - the best of both worlds!

* In Ghana you may be able to arrange inter-school tournaments that play for the "Travellers Cup" - the kids love it.
* In some countries, you may also have the opportunity to coach and play in a local Club in the evenings and on weekends.
* We provide you with free manuals on how to coach a variety of different sports, as well as Warm-up Exercises to use.
* Our placements are very flexible: you choose your own start and finish dates.
* You can combine different types of projects in different regions, or even different countries!
* We also have Sports Management Internships and Work Experience available in different locations.
* Sports is very popular with the kids and is a great way to teach them team skills, social skills ... and even improve their English!

Qualifications: No Qualifications or experience necessary, just a good dose of enthusiasm and a good knowledge of your sport. Our projects are open to anyone aged 17 and upwards.

Cost in US$: Varies between projects, but starts at $895 for two weeks. You can participate for up to one year.

Typical Volunteer: Everyone is welcome on a Travellers programme, whether gap year, undergraduate, on a career break - or even retired! From 17 years old upwards, and all nationalities. This placement would suit Sports enthusiasts who want to make a real difference, want first-hand experience of a different culture and who have initiative. No qualifications or previous experience are necessary, just a good dose of enthusiasm!

Our placements are flexible (2 weeks to 1 year) and on most you can choose your own start and finish dates. No qualifications are required, just an enthusiasm to experience a new culture! Full support is provided within the country, with friendly and conscientious staff, ensuring a safe and exciting way to experience a brand new culture! Pacements are also very sociable: you'll make friends with the other international volunteers and often volunteers travel together after their placement and during their free weekends. We help you to Make a Difference and have an exciting adventure travel experience!
