Description: Volunteers must be flexible as there's not a lot of framework for the project, but plenty of ideas and plenty of needs in the community. English language is an important skill that will allow adults to find work in tourism, the largest industry in the country. Local people of all ages are willing to learn any skill, art or physical activities.

Duties:
- Decide what classes will be taught and for whom (adults or children; beginner or intermediate, tourism or basic needs, etc.)
- Set up meeting times and locations for classes or activities and decide limitations or regulations for attendance
- Set goals and evaluate progress of courses and students
- Publicize the event to the community
- Prepare for the activity
- Work with local hotels and tourist attractions to help find employment for advanced students

Types of participants: Adults or children, Dominican and Haitian
Native Languages of Students: Spanish, Creole or French
Hours/Week: 5 to 20, up to you!

Highlights: We have a project to help the impoverished community of Muñoz. SunCampDR is located within this community, so if we improve the life of these people, we improve our own neighborhood. We need volunteers of all ages and there are no specific qualifications required. You will be greatly appreciated here among the Dominican and Haitian community. Your schedule is flexible and there are many different ways to help. Teaching languages is the most convenient service we can bring to these people. Once the communication barrier is lifted, then there is no limit to the progress that we can achieve.

Qualifications: English Speaker. Conversation Spanish or French is helpful.

Cost in US$: USD 200/month: Housing provided at Suncamp, rural apartments within walking distance of volunteer site.

* Food: approximately USD 200 - USD 250/month
