Dates: The Volunteer Program starts on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month.

Description: On the first day of your program you will receive an orientation session from your WLS Volunteer Project Co-ordinator in Beijing where you will receive all the information about your projects and different aspects of life in Beijing. Your coordinator will show you around Beijing and there will be a welcome lunch. The next day your coordinator will take you to your project. We will take you to the project on your first day. After that you need to make your own way to the project.

Highlights: This project in Beijing involves working with children with mental disabilities. Our program will give you a chance to make an important contribution to the people of China, and to gain an in depth experience of the country and its culture that will stay with you the rest of your life.

The schools mission is to help the mentally disabled children in search of a way for survival.

Their goals:
* Expedite preparations for the mentally handicapped to integrate into the society, so that they may have room for survival and receive proper respect, acceptance and confirmation by the society.
* Enable the healthy, through participation, recognize that the mentally handicapped is a group of people with self-respect and value. A platform in searching for the truth in life through care for and providing assistance to the mentally handicapped, while at the same time, gain self-improvement.
* Expand the spirit of achieving happiness through helping others to make charitable contributions of becoming a trend for the society, and advance society civilization.
* Enhance the concept of civil duties, share responsibilities for the society, reduce liabilities for the government, advance the development for a civilize society.
