Description:
Tinkuy Peru has commenced a new project working to help young children working at a local brickyard. These children, some as young as 6, work half days carrying heavy bricks in the brickyard to help support their families. The project will provide an educational and play program for the children to help them get out of manual labour and improve their future prospects to break out of the cycle of poverty. Your day will be spent helping these children and teaching English to disadvantaged children at the Andean School.

No qualifications are necessary for this program, just an interest in working directly with young children.

Cost Include Description:
Fee quoted includes a USD 50 registration fee and USD 170 for the first week room & board. Subsequent weeks cost USD 150.

Typical Volunteer: A typical volunteer is someone who wants to get the know local Peruvians and their culture, and get off the usual Peruvian tourist trail to see Peru's real beauty.

We aim to promote voluntary work for both public and private organizations and institutions. Our goal is to offer moral, spiritual, intellectual and material support to children who have been subjected to family or society abandonment, or who have experienced social or domestic violence.
