Description: Although New SADLE is almost completely self-sufficient in funding and staff, there are areas where they need assistance. Their Handicrafts factory workers are capable of making products, but they lack the knowledge of marketing and design. International volunteers can bring creativity and skill to help develop new product and increase market to a wider range of clientelle.

You will be working mainly with admin and staff (10), but there are about 150 handicraft workers who you will also be interacting and potential working with.

Highlights: This position mainly requires a designer for fair-trade handicrafts. Assistance with marketing, design, product development and potentially expanding international clientelle. There is potential to work and teach directly with the rehab patients while making the handicrafts together.

Qualifications:
- Designer (clothing, arts, handicrafts, textiles)
- Other skills or training that may be of use: Business Management, Handicraft Design, Fair Trade, marketing and sales of handicrafts or art, import and export experience.
- Someone who is afraid of leprosy sufferers or who discriminates in any way would not be comfortable in this placement

Cost in US$: $1905 for 8 week duration, $105 each additional week

Typical Volunteer: We believe everyone can contribute by volunteering. Recent graduates from high school, college or university, professionals taking a career break, recent retirees, individuals or groups who are interested in a change and the chance to enrich their own life and the lives of others. If you are 18 years or older you can apply for any of the placements available. If you are from 16-18 years old you may apply for placements near our Volunteer Abroad Office and Residence, so that we are able to give you more support. Both students and professionals are needed for placements in all our countries.
