Description:
The main Bal Mandir children's home receives almost all of the orphaned infants and smallest children of Nepal. They do not have close to enough staff to deal with all of the challenges that this provides. Simply helping with general childcare can help here not to mention assisting and training the staff to develop recreation/programs/funding etc.
Highlights:
There is a wide range of work to be done with the NCO depending on your background. With so many infants, simply assisting the staff with general childcare like changing diapers and feeding children is a lot of help. Other jobs could include organizing activities such as sports, playing educational games, helping with homework and tutoring. Depending on your skills you may also be asked to help deveolpe new programs such as yoga, sewing, knitting, cooking, music, arts and crafts, etc. Assistance is needed in administration, but mainly for longer term more experienced volunteers. They also need help to organize fundraising programs and events.
