Description:
Based in the beautiful outskirts of Tegucigalpa we offer two projects which are trying to make a difference to the next generation of young Hondurans. If you're committed about young children then you're needed to help care for those at an expanding orphanage that's run by an American and a Brit. Or if you'd rather work with older children then why not spend some time at the country's leading informal education facility where vocational skills are taught to deserving youngsters so that they can help lead Honduras to a more positive and prosperous future. There are a couple of projects that you could be placed in Valle de Angeles in Honduras. i-to-i volunteers will be working with disadvantaged children, some from very deprived areas. You main aims of the placement are to support their development and generally just be there to help improve their quality of life. One of the projects trains young people from the ages of 15 to 23 in over 50 specialist areas of industry, agriculture and the tertiary sector. It is mainly financed by subsidies from the central government, the funds of private enterprises and international loans, and is therefore completely free. It has the goal of participating in the process of integral development of the country as a direct responsible of a dynamic, modern and audacious training of human resources. The training incorporates scientific and technological processes in order to contribute to the country's integral development.
