Description:
Peru is a very bio-diverse country. Many conservation projects can be carried out in the Amazon rainforest and in the Andean mountains. As a volunteer working in Peru, you will focus on rainforest conservation, economic development, eco-tourism, reforestation and other conservation efforts. It is helpful for the volunteers to learn some Spanish language, so our Peru volunteer projects also tailor one to two weeks Language and Cultural Immersion Program to learn the basic language and about Peruvian lifestyle and customs. The LAC is tailored to your Spanish level and taught in the first weeks after arrival before the start of your volunteer project. The LAC also includes guided excursions to local villages, markets and other places of interest.
Highlights:
Peru is marked by ancient societies and has interesting ruins to visit all over the country. Cusco is home to Machu Picchu, an energetic, enigmatic home of Peru's ancestors. These same mysterious and dynamic people made hill drawings in Nasca and left other fascinating clues all over the nation.

Institute For Field Research Expeditions's Mission Statement: The mission of our volunteer abroad program is to offer meaningful volunteer abroad opportunities for volunteers and to seek sustainable solutions for education, health, conservation, and development issues through international volunteering. We hope to achieve this goal by offering community orientated volunteer programs where the efforts of our volunteers go directly to the poor people and their communities.
Many grass-root organizations working in developing countries are poor in resources. These organizations are doing a commendable job to address development, education, health, and conservation issues by launching a variety of programs but these organizations are in a great need of help and support. IFRE promotes these local organizations by making donations and sending volunteers.
