Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks and 2-4 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: Every Day

Description: We offer participants a truly unique and very remarkable way to experience Peru. By living and working side-by-side with the local community, volunteers have an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the community while experiencing a total cultural immersion that cannot be matched by conventional travel programs. Volunteers live in typical rural houses, without hot showers, neither bathrooms, or a very comfortable beds since you will be in the highlands.

Highlights: Experience the magic of the Highlands by living in villages. Your volunteer program includes Agriculture, construction, teaching, textiles, craft activities, music, dance and cooking. You will have a unique experience sharing time with farmers.

Qualifications: Volunteers should be physically fit for this project and should be prepared to live without modern amenities, such as internet and regular hot water. This project is ideal for volunteers who are seeking to immerse themselves into the community and to really experience what life is like in the Andes. Volunteers should not expect luxury or home comforts. Rather, they should expect to be flexible, tolerant, and open-minded.
