Description:
This project is hosted by Myongjin School for blind and non-blind children in Chuncheon, an area that is famous for the beautiful lakes and mountains. The purpose of this school is to provide education for both blind and non-blind children to better understand each other by studying and experiencing together in one classroom. Together with other local volunteers, the international participants will be leading a summer English camp for the children of this school. Especially for those who are interested in aiding or teaching blind people, this will definitely be a great opportunity. The volunteers will teach basic English during the camp and perform a fun play in English at the end of the project. They will also have to prepare the decoration, promotion and instruction of the play. Although the camp schedule is tight, the volunteers will play an important role in encouraging and giving confidence to the students. Free time: Picnic, outdoor activities with the children. The project takes place in Chuncheon in Gangwon province, 80 km east from Seoul.
Qualifications:
Volunteers have to like children and be motivated quite well to work with the blind kids.
