The organization is based in Accra, within offices very close to the city center. They are looking to lease a building in Accra which will serve both as an office, a meeting place for artists and a Contemporary Art Gallery (Ghana currently has no National Contemporary Art Museum). This requires significant funding. The intern will be required to look at the options for fundraising, meet with potential donors (such as UNESCO and private institutions), draft fundraising proposals. All roles requires a minimum of 5 hours a day (suggested 10-3pm), 5 days a week. You will work alongside the current part time secretary and other artists and volunteers, of which there will typically be at least 3-4 also at the office. You will be required to attend one weekly general meeting, usually on Wednesday afternoons from 4 pm till 6 pm. Additionally, you will be required to frequent galleries and cultural organizations in Accra, to attend occasional evening events, and represent FCA with other volunteers of the foundation. This will be a wonderful way to learn about the city and meet people.
