Description:
You could teach in one of a few schools. One is a primary school founded in 1935 and therefore one of the oldest and most prestigious in Mancora. Grades go from 1st to 6th, with children's ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old. The other not far behind was founded in 1967. It is a mixed school that presently has 990 students: 587 in the secondary, 365 in the primary and 38 in the pre-school. Although there are 50 teachers who work in the school, there is a clear need for English teachers as they currently only have 3. Highlights:
Mancora is located 1,155 km. north of Lima. It is widely considered to have one of the most beautiful beaches in Peru. Its warm ocean and all year round sun, as well as its perfect waves, makes Mancora a paradise for surfers and indeed anyone who wants to sit back and relax after their volunteering!
