Description: This program offers its participants a truly unique and remarkable way to experience Brazil. By living and working side-by-side with a local community volunteers have an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the community while experiencing a total cultural immersion that cannot be matched by conventional travel programs. Volunteer opportunities include teaching children, orphanage assistance, environmental conservation projects, wildlife conservation projects, community development, health care and health education, and youth soccer coaching.

Highlights: Brazil is the largest and most populous country in South America and the 5th largest country in the world. This tropical land is not only known for its size but its ecological treasures with a large Atlantic coast, a mountain range, and the Amazon River basin and rainforest. Despite its amazing beauty there is a great need for humanitarian aid in Brazil. With around 186 million citizens, 40 million live below the poverty level, a staggering number mostly due to social injustice and a struggling economy. World Endeavors offers an amazing opportunity to help Brazil and its people at the grassroots level.

Qualifications: Volunteers must have: English language fluency, a desire to help the people of Brazil, flexibility, self-motivation, openness to a new culture and a willingness to learn. Portuguese language skills are helpful but not required.
