Description: Hut warden in the mountains of the Tongariro National Park. Based at a hut, information source, assisting hikers, minor hut and track maintenance, contact for Search and Rescue, hut and environs cleanliness and hut/camp pass duties. Conservation projects at each hut. Normally 5 days in the mountains and 2 days out. Accommodation and food allowance.

Highlights: Dual World Heritage National Park. Stunning volcanic landscape.

Typical Volunteer: Younger backpacker type. Fit enough to hike around the mountains. Enjoy meeting and helping people from all parts of the world. Different conservation project presentations at each hut.
