Description:
Good News participation is open to adult volunteers of any faith who are in good health, and willing and able to work. Group member with 8-28 other volunteers for two weeks projects in January and February annually.
Qualifications:
The most important qualification is the desire to be of direct service to others. Every year, we build a number of small, simple houses. We also have volunteers who teach in primary and secondary schools, teach adult education classes, do home visits with village nurses, and get involved in other unique activities depending on their own talents, training, experience and expertise. We look for adult volunteers who are in relatively good health and are willing and able to live and work in tropical climates.

Cost Include Description:
Living expenses for two weeks are about $550. Travel expenses depend on departure city, destination, dates of travel, availability of flights, fuel costs, etc. They average from $900 - $1100 (US) but may be higher in the future.

Good News Project, Inc's Mission Statement: The Mission of the Good News Project is to provide opportunities for short-term direct personal service in developing countries and in the Wausau area, to collect and ship humanitarian goods, and to encourage local West Indies institutions.
We lead volunteer teams that serve the poor in St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Dominica and Grenada through home construction, medical service, educational programs and support of medical, educational, child care and elderly service institutions. Volunteers pay their own travel and living expenses - about US$2000 for two weeks.
