Description:
Award-winning company. You will be able to help orphaned children (including HIV/AIDS orphans) realise a fuller life. The Children's Home or Orphanage currently provides 24-hour care to 52 children from under a year to 18 years of age and runs a pre-school on site. The Children's Home or Orphanage provides an essential service to disadvantaged communities nearby. Your help will alleviate some of the work-load on the professional employees enabling them to increase their service delivery. Our partner is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) with the Department of Social Development, which has been providing care and assistance to orphans since 2000. Their mission statement is to provide quality care to orphans, abandoned, abused and retro-positive children. To address physical, emotional, social and educational needs of children. To promote the development and protect the interests, safety and well-being of children within the context of the family. To train and counsel the youth on AIDS and life skills and provide prevention programmes. Your donation included in the project fee will contribute to the long-term sustainability of the project. On your return home you may continue to support the project with on-going donations directly into the projects account.
Highlights:
Often described as a world in one country, South Africa is a melting pot of cultures, languages and religions. It is a land of beauty in which first and third worlds live side by side - creating a unique mix. The democratically elected government since 1994 has made significant strides in social and infrastructural development in previously disadvantaged communities. However, additional resources and people-power are still needed to better the lives of many South Africans. Voluntours offers you the unique opportunity to help firsthand in the nation building of South Africa. Through voluntouring your time you can make a significant impact in the daily lives of our people. Get involved at the grassroots level in South Africa!
