Description:
F-SHAM of Faith Girls Academy is a school located in the Soul Clinic Community, Paynesville City, Monrovia. About five hundred girl students attend the school between the ages of one and eighteen years. The school was founded in 2000 and was the idea of five women educators. F-SHAM runs from nursery class to eleventh grade (ie. from elementary, junior high and senior high level). It runs both academic and vocational training programs. The vocational training program allows other women (i.e. non regular students) to enroll for special skill training. The competent teaching staff of F-SHAM are all either trained from the teacher training colleges or from the university. F-SHAM has a computer laboratory, a sewing lab and typing pool as well as a catering department. The school's catering department gets contracts from outside the school and the girls are paid for this. We are looking for both male and female volunteers who love working with children, are ready to live simply and take on challenges, and have a flair for creativity. You will teach small classes in either our nursery or the upper classes. Qualified teachers and general volunteers are all welcome. Volunteers are encouraged to start their own initiatives and be involved in sustaining the project once they have finished volunteering. We welcome your participation and ideas!

KIDS Worldwide's Mission Statement: Kids Worldwide seeks to improve the quality of life for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We provide nurturing care and educational programmes based upon the universal concepts of Neo-Humanism, which are tailored to the needs of the children in our projects.
We run orphanages as well as provide services to already established orphanages and childrens' projects (such as struggling primary schools and kindergartens) through our volunteer outreach programs.
Our volunteer programs are notable in that we only request a small donation for food and accommodation that is paid directly to the project itself when the volunteer arrives. There is no administration fee requested to sign up through the program as we have volunteers doing all the web design and co-ordination for free.
We ask that each volunteer give US $350 for their first month's food and accomodation and $100 thereafter. That is all - compare this to other volunteering sites on the internet!
