Description: Volunteers will be rewarded as they help in various self-contained community health centers, all dedicated to the delivery of general health care and disease prevention. The centers are run on a day-to-day basis by a team of health care professionals, usually consisting of 1 or 2 doctors and, at the most, a few nurses, and an auxiliary staff consisting of a cook, janitor, and administrative support. Medical students and health care professionals have an opportunity to have a direct contribution in their area of expertise. Help is needed in general medicine, pharmacy, nursing, nutrition, and social work and Maternity Hospital. But if you have a desire to work in the community healthcare sector, but have no experience, this is also a wonderful opportunity to work on a worthwhile project.
