Description:
Global Crossroad's Volunteer Teaching English in Nepal Program is an enjoyable and satisfying experience where students are eager to improve their conversational English skills. Our volunteers work primarily as instructors of English in either Nepali public or private schools. Volunteers may also be asked to assist in other school activities such as sports or extra-curricular projects. Our volunteers teach from 2 to 3 hours each day, six days a week. Most of the students range in age from 6 to 13. In Nepal, each school has its own English teachers who assist our volunteers with teaching methods, offer advice on solving communication barriers, and provide suitable curricula for classroom use. Our English teaching volunteers do not have to be natives of English-speaking countries. Global Crossroad welcomes all volunteers who have a working knowledge of English and the desire to share their knowledge with students who are eager to learn. Nepali schools are closed during the holidays and exam periods. During these times, Global Crossroad will organize alternative tasks for our volunteers, such as assisting in our orphanage (if necessary).
