Description:
Ecuador is a country of boundless diversity, friendly people and spectacular natural wonders. You can travel in a day from tropical lowlands where bananas grow, to the Andes Mountains where llamas graze beneath volcanoes over 20,000 feet high, and then on to the edge of the mystical Amazon Basin. The Ecuador mini-adventure program is a meaningful opportunity for volunteers who wish to explore the beauty of Ecuador, its culture, nature, and people while volunteering for orphans by giving them much needed hope and guidance. As a Ecuador volunteers you will teach health education, English, and sanitation to orphans/disadvantaged kids. You will also help children to develop their creative talents by working with them to draw pictures, play games, and perform various creative activities. After a few days of working with these children, or any other activity that interests the volunteer, Global Crossroad will organize a 4 day tour of Ecuador where volunteers can experience the country's rich past, exciting future, wonderful culture, and natural beauty. The tour will begin with the exploration of Ecuador's biggest indigenous market (Otavalo), followed by a visit to the paradise of Banos. Next, volunteers will visit the world's highest active volcano, the fearsome Cotopzxi. Finally, the four day trek ends with the beautiful landscapes and dense flora and fauna of Mindo.
