Typical Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Description:
Our unique Thailand Mini-adventure program blends your remarkable volunteer experience with a thrilling visit to Bangkok and surrounding places of tourist attractions. For the two weeks that you will travel in Thailand, you will encounter challenges and issues that plague the children of Thailand. Witnessing the problems of Thailand's youth, you will have numerous opportunities to give the care and love that these children need. While you give hope to these children, you will receive a chance of a lifetime - to explore the amazing city of Bangkok and other wonderful destinations of Thailand. In Thailand Mini-adventure program volunteers will work as an assistant child care taker in child development center, baby homes or assistant teachers in primary schools. Child Care Centers are day care centers where poor villagers leave their kids before they go to work in their offices/factories. These are established by local government especially in the areas where there are poor communities to help poor people who can not hire nannies for their kids or send to private nurseries in town. Here, volunteers will engage in various activities that work to support local children, like teaching English, sanitation, playing games, drawing pictures, and other projects that are requested by local organizations. Furthermore, volunteers can participate in some physical activities, like planting, maintaining, and watering flowers around the orphanages. After a few days of working with children, Global Crossroad organizes a remarkable mini-cultural Bangkok tour that will allow volunteers to see some of the most popular tourist destinations of Thailand. Proposed Program Schedule: Day 1: Airport receive, apartment/hostel/host family transfer, and rest Day 2: Orientation trip to Bangkok: a trip will be arranged to visit Bangkok. Grand palace and Emerald Buddha, Wat Pho, Khaosan road etc. are the popular places to visit.
