Teaching English in Thailand focuses mainly on developing the English speaking skills of students presently studying in high schools and colleges. With the rapid growth of business, especially the tourism sector, fluent English speakers are in high demand in Thailand. The younger generation is especially zealous in their hunt for fluent English conversational opportunities. As an English Instructor your classes will be filled with these enthusiastic students. English teaching in Thailand also offers you exceptional opportunities to build your career in teaching and public relations, and explore the beauty of the Thai culture, hospitality and people during weekends and other holidays. Activities ' Full time (20-25) hours per week of teaching ' Teach mainly conversational English ' Develop/Join English camps, trips, and other activities with teachers and students to practice spoken English ' Teaching positions in mathematics, business administration, music etc. are also available for qualified teachers ' Text books or teaching materials are normally provided Benefits: ' US$ 300 monthly salary (Only for native English speakers; Bachelor's degree in English, Mathematics, Science and Business Administration. ' Up to US$ 500 monthly salary for applicants with a degree in English, at least one year teaching experience and ESL/EFL, TEFL or TESOL training ' Reasonable accommodation ' Arrangement for working visa and support of field staff ' Certificate of working experience. Application and Visa Arrangement: Apply at least 3 months in advance with CVs and photo to the Global Crossroad USA office. You will need a non-immigrant (type "B. F or O") visa to go and work in Thailand. Our National Coordinator will send an invitation letter with which you can apply for and receive from the Royal Thai Embassy or any Thai consulate office near your town (Asia Pacific, Americas and Europe). Contact our Thailand office for detailed information and arrangements. Locations: Most placements are in Bangkok and its vicinity areas. ' Colleges/academic institutions - volunteers will teach 15-22 years (secondary to bachelors) students ' Bilingual private schools - The age of the children varies from 3 to 18 years depending upon the type and level of school. Other arrangements: Day 1: Arrival, airport receive and transfer to hostel/apartment. Day 2: Orientation at the Global Crossroad office and briefing on Thailand, its history, culture and customs, schools, work and other subjects. You will be transferred to the placement/accommodation in the afternoon/evening or the next depending on the circumstances. . Day 3- onwards: Day to day work at the placement.
Qualifications:
" Native English speakers from USCanada, UK, Australia or New Zealand " Possess a bachelor's degree in any subject; for example, Arts, English language/literature or a technical field; previous teaching experience and additional ESL/EFL, TEFL or TESOL training from an accredited organization are necessary " A minimum commitment of at least one full semester (~4 months) up to a maximum of 11 months. " A recent photograph, full CV including academic qualification and experience when apply " Original certificates (degree confirmation, transcripts, training and other work experiences) to bring to show and 2 photo-copies of these certificates to submit to the Global Crossroad.
