Description:
Is an Australian based Church/Organization, which has its autonomous branches Worldwide. Thus Christian Life Centre, Ho Branch in the Volta Region Of Ghana, was established through the initiative of some well-meaning individuals who have come to the realization that something positive needs to be done for their own people, in less endowed areas of the Country. The CLC is engaged in Spiritual, Medical Health, Social, Physical, Agriculture, Environmental as well as Developmental Programme. Its priority however, is centered on the planning and growth of the Christian Life Center and Medical Health Clinic in some villages and towns in the country starting from Ho, in the Volta Region for the people of Ho and its environs. In conjunction with its aims, the Christian Life Centre is Interested In Volunteerism to help in the field of Teaching, nursing, agriculture, medical health, campaigning against the spreading of HIV/AIDS, Campaigning against Violence in Africa and other related Programmes of Development with the aim of improving the quality of life and spiritual upliftment of the people within the Church's area of Operation. Further to these operational areas, the center undertakes exchange programme in Tourism and Pen-paling to bring together people of various Culture, orientations to encourage exchange of ideas, Developmental programmes and understanding. Life For The Living Medical Aid Centre This center, which is a subsidiary of the Christian Life Centre at Ho, has the arduous task of promoting both urban and rural health within the Ho District area of promoting both urban and rural health with the Ho District area with a dream of extending his mission to other regions in the country. It specializes in giving treatment to children and the aged and visits bed-ridden patients who cannot afford to visit hospital, health centers and health posts due to financial difficulties and transportation problems. Most of the cases involve treatment of malaria, malnutrition, coughs, wounds and general weaknesses. Activities/Achievement The Centre has achieved what could be termed a modest Improvement in the health of the citizens in its areas of operation.

Cost in US$: 300 per week
Cost Include Description:
-Volunteers are responsible for airfare, vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis, travel/evacuation insurance, VISA costs and local transportation. Fees should be paid on arrival in Ghana to the CLC Director, Rev. Bankas This cost includes housing *two meals a day *pick up/return from the airport in Accra *at least one sightseeing opportunity in the Volta Region (2-3 days) including food, transport and accommodation. Accommodation: Volunteers will be provided with their own room that can be locked. You may be asked to share a room with one other volunteer. The house will have running water, modern toilet facilities and electricity.

Typical Volunteer: Future in Plan
1. 2005 would be a year of reaching the un-reached people with free medical treatment in form of mobile health project. Visiting five {5} Villages with mobile health program and campaigning against the spreading
of HIV/AIDS.
Target Group would be: Orphans, Youth, Aged, Women, Widows and Children
2. {Volunteers Target} we are expecting to work with fifty {50} Volunteers next year to combat against spreading of HIV/AIDS in Ghana precisely Volta Region and work at the Hospital, the clinics and visit the
Villages with the mobile health project at the five communities in the Volta Region.
