Description: Volunteers can work with the Department of Social Welfare and work directly with the poor communities in the area. Previous developments include teaching community computer classes, organizing projects and activities with the street children, as well as teaching classes for the street children. The Department of Social Welfare is particularly in need of an English speaking deaf educator to teach computer classes to the hearing impaired. A volunteer with this experience has the potential to have a tremendous impact on the local community here.

The Volunteer for the Visayans is dedicated to promoting international education about the people and culture of the Philippines, as well as the economic hardships they deal with everyday, through volunteerism and cultural immersion. At the same time, the Volunteer for the Visayans aims to provide support services to the community through its host of local volunteers.
   
Volunteer for the Visayans is a non-government organization that works with the following objectives:

' To provide support services in the areas of social welfare, education and ecology.

Typical Volunteer: Volunteers will be working with City Social Welfare and Development office and help them with their community projects. They may also help with basic office projects.
