On a daily basis you will be involved in research, education and helping with general tasks such as conducting manatee surveys, assessing jaguar populations and running environmental field courses. The program starts with a five day orientation and training, where you will learn the basic skills needed for your job at the placement. You will also be briefed on living and working in Belize, cultural awareness, and general health and safety issues. Then you will move to your placement, where you will stay for two months or more. Placements are available with Wild tracks (a conservation organization), the Belize Audubon Society and the Belize Institute of Archeology.
