Volunteer in Rural Thailand With No High Fees!
Thailand
Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks and 5-8 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: May-September, October-March
Description:
This project is unique in Southeast Asia. We are a small, family-run organization and work with a close network of rural schools. Volunteers teach English for 3-4 hours a day, and in return are provided with a host family and many cultural experiences. See our website and volunteer blog for more info and pics. Though we teach very poor students in the most remote provinces of Thailand, our homestays are quite comfortable. Volunteers get a Western style house, a proper bed, bathroom, and three fine Thai meals a day. You will either live with a Thai family or have your own house in the community. Indeed, one reason Volunthai has been so successful is because the Thais take such good care of their guests. Unlike other volunteer programs, Volunthai does not pay the schools or host families to take care of you. They're doing it to help their students and because they trust us to choose attractive and likeable volunteers for them. It is important to understand that Volunthai isnt a sophisticated international organization, but simply a close network of schools that we know personally and wish to help.
