Description: Building New Hope is looking for a volunteer coordinator and teacher for our new project, Escuela Yo Puedo, a learning center for street children in Granada, Nicaragua. Our center is "schoo" to children who are denied education because of family restrictions that force them to work in the streets, shining shoes or selling candy. We may see as many as 25 to 30 children at La Escuela each day as they learn to read and do math at our computers, or learn the basics with our volunteers who play games, teach by flashcards and puzzles, etc. Most importantly, they receive an abundance of TLC from our amazing team of volunteers each day.

Qualifications: Ideally, we need a volunteer who speaks Spanish at least at an intermediate level, can commit to at least three months here in Granada, will communicate with other interested volunteers and to coordinate their schedules at the project, and can begin during the months of August or ASAP.

    This volunteer position carries no set price, yet it is strictly voluntary. Travel and living expenses are funded entirely by the volunteer. Help in locating living accommodations, etc. is available.
