Description: Building New Hope is always in need of teachers' assistants for a small day school for children of financially distressed families. The school is attended by 36 children each weekday where they received tutoring for their school work as well as new activities not offered in public schools. We stress reading with regular visits to our community library plus story-reading in school. Volunteers are encouraged to offer new activities and 'paseandos' that will open the world to these children who otherwise have few opportunities in education.

Qualifications: Ideally, we need a volunteer who speaks Spanish at least at an intermediate level, can commit to at least three months here in Granada, will communicate with other interested volunteers and to coordinate their schedules at the project, and can begin during the months of August or ASAP.

    This volunteer position is strictly voluntary. Travel and living expenses are funded entirely by the volunteer. Our volunteer coordinator will assist in arranging housing, introduction to projects, etc. ID cards are given to volunteers for discounts in restaurants, gym, activities, etc. Bicycle available if project requires this. We welcome volunteers with a welcome breakfast!
