Thailand
Durations of Program: 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Typical Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Description:
Teaching in Southwest Thailand by the Sea! Live and Teach in the Southwest Thailand, on the coast and on the islands. Famous for its lush jungles, white beaches, magnificent archipelago and a delicious Thai/Malay cuisine. A fantastic volunteer opportunity! Satun is a spectacularly beautiful province in the Southwest. The Openmindprojects program, with one of its Thai bases in Satun town, now offers a chance to explore this unique region, its fascinating mixed culture and to get to know a region few tourists get to see. You are also welcome to the beautiful region, Pang Nga (with the famous James Bond island) just north of Phuket, by the Andaman Sea. Students need to improve basic skills in reading and writing but most of all help with communication. Teach English in primary schools on islands and in the countryside. You can also show students how to use computers at secondary schools and computer centers. Get hands-on cross-cultural experience by helping young children or teenagers. Share your skills and experience with local schools, teachers and villages. We place you with schools and host families chosen by our local coordinator. If you come for two months or more, you can go to two different places in Thailand, the largely unknown but genuine Northeast, Isan, as well as the Southwest and the sea, a unique chance to experience the diversity of Thailand!
